Glenorchy Air Celebrates 25 years of operating

On November 22, 2017, Glenorchy Air celebrated its 25th Anniversary of operating.

Glenorchy Air was founded by Robert and Janet Rutherford in 1992. At the time, the stunning road from Queenstown to Glenorchy was unsealed. They regularly operated flights from Glenorchy to various destinations. However, six years later, the road was sealed and operations moved to Queenstown Airport. We still operate from this location on the airfield today.

We have been operated as a true Family business from day one, with the entire family being involved in the business through the years.

Glenorchy Air is very pleased to be celebrating this milestone and proud to be part of the Queenstown aviation community for so many years. Our brand new hangar, which houses our 4 GA8 aeroplanes, was completed just in time to celebrate our milestone anniversary.

With over 10 staff members, we are on target for flying 10,000 passengers in 2018! (Fingers crossed for the weather).

We would like to thank everyone who has helped us meet this milestone.
