Please call us on 0800 676 264 1 hour before your scheduled flight time on the day of your flight for your Weather Check.
If you are self driving to us at Queenstown Airport, your check in time is 30 minutes prior to departure.
We suggest you bring the following with you to make it a great day out:
- Any essential medication
- Sunglasses
- Sunscreen
- Camera – make sure it’s fully charged
- Warm clothing layers
- Sensible footwear
- A daypack
- Bottle of water
- Snacks
Your flight between Queenstown and Stewart Island are approximately 1 hour 15 minutes each way.
No, but you can pre-purchase a picnic lunch from us when booking online for an additional $25pp. We have vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options on request.
You are welcome to bring your own picnic lunch with you as well. There are also some great spots for lunch on the island. Our pilot’s favourite is the fresh fish and chips from Kai Karts Fish & Chips.
There are lots of different things to do when you arrive on Stewart Island!
When booking online, you can add the following as extras:
- A water-based tour with Rakiura Charters around the Patterson Inlet, taking you to the old Whalers Base and the Marine Farms
- A land-based tour with the Aurora Cab Company. This is perfect for those who would like a concise yet thorough introduction to Stewart Island
- A water taxi transfer to Ulva Island for some bird spotting

Unfortunately at this time, we do not offer flights over multiple days, just day trips. Please Contact Us and we can talk through some different options for you.
We where looking at visiting Stewart and Ulva Islands but by the time we added up car hire, accommodation, ferry, other expenses and our limited time we thought why not fly. Pickup from town, a scenic flight out and back, a day on the Islands - what a trip. Only thing we would change would be to spend more time on Ulva island - what a beautiful place. Ticked all the boxes. A great day out!
